A raw, neglected space in Victoria's Chinatown turned into an intimate fine-dining room. Most of the budget went to a professional-grade kitchen, so the rest of the room relied on resourcefulness: all wood dividers and screens were made in-house. The project received the "Scrappy" award from Victoria's design community, and Ugly Duckling is now one of Vancouver Island's most celebrated restaurants. Designed and built by EDDA.
